The trip between the highlights

The best safari days are not only the headline moments.

Lodge evenings, shared meals, quiet views and the pace between activities are part of what makes the journey memorable. SafariSmith plans for the whole experience, not only the checklist.

Trust-first partners

We document supplier contacts, terms, pricing, operating details and verification status instead of treating a web listing as a relationship.

Explainable pricing

SafariSmith's standard is a clear, line-item quote with inclusions, exclusions and the pieces of your trip explained in plain English.

Two-continent perspective

U.S.-based planning is paired with South African operating relationships and local Cape Town experience development.

One relationship. The right specialists.

You should not have to manage the handoffs yourself.

SafariSmith stays accountable for the client relationship while the right South African specialists handle the parts of the journey they know best.

One connected trip

Proof you can inspect

What a SafariSmith quote is built to show you.

A safari quote should be something you can explain in two minutes. SafariSmith uses a receipt-style structure so the major pieces are visible, dated and easy to question before you commit.

Line-item pricing

Hunting days, trophy fees, lodging, transfers, activities and other trip components are separated instead of buried inside one mystery total.

Clear inclusions & exclusions

What is included, what is optional and what is still subject to confirmation are stated directly.

Version + date

Each proposal is dated and versioned so you know which quote you are reviewing.

Group clarity

When costs apply per person, per hunter, per vehicle, per day or to the group, that logic should be visible.

Where it started

Hunting is the founding experience. South Africa is the canvas.

SafariSmith grew from Jan Nel IV's South African-American family connection and the hunting experience of Andri Fox Safaris in the Eastern Cape. The platform is now expanding that same trust-first planning philosophy into Cape Town, the Winelands and complementary travel experiences.

Local relationships, not a directory

SafariSmith is building a smaller network of South African specialists and suppliers we can understand properly and match to the right traveler.

Straight answers

SafariSmith FAQ

The short version first. If you are trying to understand how SafariSmith works, these are the questions worth answering before anything else.

What is SafariSmith?

SafariSmith is a U.S.-facing Safari Adventure Agent that helps Americans plan and book complete, tailor-made South African adventure safaris with transparent pricing, trusted South African relationships, and full concierge support.

Who is SafariSmith for?

SafariSmith is for travelers who want Africa to be built around their main reason for going. Hunting, wine, golf, fishing, photography, wildlife, Cape Town, family travel, or another priority can become the centerpiece, with the rest of the journey designed around the people traveling.

Can I combine hunting, golf, fishing, wine, and Cape Town in one South Africa trip?

Yes. SafariSmith is designed to connect multiple South African experiences into one tailored itinerary, coordinating the relevant specialists, properties, transfers, and activities so the trip feels like one journey instead of separate bookings.

Do I need to be a hunter to plan a trip with SafariSmith?

No. Hunting is SafariSmith's founding experience, but it is not a requirement. SafariSmith also develops trips around Cape Town, the Winelands, golf, fishing, wildlife, photography, family travel, and other South African experiences.

How much does a SafariSmith trip cost?

SafariSmith trips are custom-quoted because price depends on trip length, group size, accommodations, activities, hunting species where applicable, transportation, and pace. The SafariSmith quoting standard is dated, versioned, line-item pricing with clear inclusions and exclusions.

How does SafariSmith choose suppliers and partners?

SafariSmith tracks suppliers through a verification process that can include research, direct contact, commercial verification, and firsthand experience or site visits. Verification depth varies by supplier, and SafariSmith does not treat a web listing as the same thing as a verified relationship.

Can SafariSmith plan for non-hunting companions and families?

Yes. SafariSmith designs around the whole group. Spouses, children, grandparents, and non-hunting companions can have their own interests and daily activities built into the itinerary rather than being treated as secondary travelers.

What makes SafariSmith different?

SafariSmith combines transparent, explainable pricing with a U.S.-and-South-Africa planning perspective, selective local relationships, deliberate trip pacing, and one connected itinerary. The goal is to make a complex African journey easier to understand, compare, and book.
